Getting started

Register as a locum nurse, add your postcode and travel radius, and upload compliance documents. You need a complete profile before you can accept shifts.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Sign up with your email and UK mobile number. Choose the locum nurse role.

  2. 2

    Build your profile

Add your postcode, expected hourly rate, available days, travel radius (5–30 miles), software fluency, and clinical competencies under Work setup and Skills.

  3. 3

    Upload documents

Under Documents, upload all four compliance files: right to work, DBS, indemnity insurance, and immunisations.

  4. 4

    Set up payouts

Open the Payouts tab on your profile and connect Stripe so approved pay can reach your bank account.

Your shift feed

Feed is your home screen. The greeting updates by time of day (Good morning, Good afternoon, and so on). When a practice sends you a request, the offer appears here in real time.

  1. 1

    Review an offer

Each card shows the practice, address, date, times, and all-in hourly rate (your rate plus platform fee, and VAT when applicable). Tap for a full cost breakdown, or Directions for navigation.

  2. 2

    Accept or hide

Tap “Review & accept”, then confirm with “Yes, accept”. The shift moves to your Diary. “Hide for now” moves it to Hidden offers — tap that section to expand and restore it later.

    • You can only accept one shift per calendar day.
    • Hiding does not decline the offer; the practice still sees it as pending.

Practice cancellations appear at the top of your feed. Dismiss them once you have read the update. Use the Guide link in the top bar if you need help on any screen.

Your diary

Booked shifts live in Diary, organised by week or month. Active shifts show first; past shifts sit in a collapsed panel at the bottom.

  1. 1

    Request a cancellation

On a confirmed future shift, tap “Cancel booking”, add an optional reason, and submit. The practice must acknowledge before the booking is released.

    • You cannot accept another shift on the same day until the practice acknowledges.
    • Cancellations close to shift start may be recorded for reliability tracking.
  • Today — shifts happening now, with timesheet actions when due.
  • Up next — your nearest future booking.
  • Later dates — grouped by day in date order.
  • Past shifts — collapsed by default; expand to review completed bookings (newest first).

Timesheets and pay

After working a shift, submit your actual start and end times plus any unpaid break. Practices have 24 hours to review before auto-approval.

  • To do — shifts ready to submit, plus any rejected items to revise.
  • In review — submitted and awaiting the practice’s decision.
  • Payout — approved and waiting for the practice to pay you.
  • Paid history — collapsed at the bottom; expand to see completed payouts (newest first).

The earnings summary at the top shows Approved, Paid, and In review totals for the current month. Connect Stripe on Profile → Payouts if you see a banner about missing payout setup.

Keeping your profile ready

Your profile is organised top to bottom: photo, account details (name and phone save separately), a completion checklist, then tabs for Work setup, Skills, Documents, and Payouts.

  • Photo — tap your avatar to update; saved with Save profile.
  • Account details — edit your name and phone here; changes save instantly without touching Save profile.
  • Checklist — shows “Almost there” when profile fields are done but documents or Stripe still need attention.
  • Postcode and travel radius control which shifts you match.
  • Available days must include the day of the week for the shift.

If your profile is under 80% complete, a short onboarding wizard guides you through the essentials first.

Good to know

A few rules and navigation tips that keep scheduling fair for everyone on the platform.

  • Bottom navigation — Feed, Diary, Timesheets, and Profile are always one tap away.
  • One shift per day — you can only hold one booked shift per calendar date.
  • Hide ≠ decline — hiding an offer does not reject it.
  • Real-time updates — new offers and practice cancellations appear without refreshing.
  • Mobile-first — the nurse dashboard is designed for use on your phone between patients.
