AuraLocum charges a flat £2.00 platform fee per payable hour. Locum pay and mileage are shown clearly before you send an offer — the same breakdown appears when you pay the timesheet.
Locum pay goes to the nurse
You pay the nurse's hourly rate for actual hours worked. AuraLocum routes their pay automatically after you approve the timesheet.
Mileage when applicable
Round-trip travel from the nurse's postcode to your practice at £0.45/mile. Shown in estimates before you notify anyone.
Pay only when you book
No subscription, no posting fee, and no charge until a shift is worked and you approve the timesheet.

Good to know
- Estimates match invoices. The all-in rate and shift total you see when comparing nurses use the same rules as the final timesheet — adjusted only if actual hours differ.
- Nurses set their own rate. The locum hourly rate comes from the nurse's profile. Platform fee and mileage are added on top.
- VAT. VAT is not currently charged on the platform fee. If this changes when AuraLocum is VAT-registered, your dashboard estimates will update automatically — VAT applies to the platform fee only, not locum pay.
- No hidden extras. There is no charge to register, post cover, or send offers. You only pay for shifts that are worked and approved.
